Assistant Cook/Housekeeper (Part-Time)
Salary £11,606.40 per annum. Hours per week 31
We wish to recruit two enthusiastic and committed people to join our dedicated team, assisting with the preparation of meals and housekeeping services for the 100+ children in residence at our Centre each week.
The role is to support both the Head Cook and Housekeepers in delivering a highly professional service to the Centre’s clientele, many of whom are from a disadvantaged background.
The Successful candidate must be able to work weekends if required, although this will not be part of the normal work pattern. The role involves some heavy manual work.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking and serving meals.
- Knowledge of special dietary requirements and allergies.
- Knowledge required of Kitchen/bathroom sanitization and necessary safety measures.
- General domestic cleaning.
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Friendly and approachable disposition; children focused.
Duties to include:
- To Assist the Cook in the preparation, cooking and serving of all meals.
- To be able to demonstrate knowledge of special dietary needs and an awareness of food allergies.
- Keep accurate records of freezer and fridge temperatures.
- Ensure all food and chemical stores/stock are labelled, correctly stored and rotated in accordance with Kitchen and housekeeping guidelines.
- To assist the cooks and housekeepers by providing information on stock levels and assist with checking deliveries.
- To be responsible for a variety of cleaning duties both in the kitchen and buildings.
- To be able to demonstrate a high level of customer care to our clients.
- To perform other kitchen/housekeeping duties commensurate with the position as required.
