Shaftesbury Young People is one of the UK’s oldest children’s Charites, dedicated to the education of, and assistance to, the most disadvantaged and excluded children and young people. With education centres in London, The Midlands and the East of England, the charity provided one to one and dedicated education to children and young people in need and has exciting plans to expand its reach and influence to more young people in many more parts of the UK and to move into social enterprise projects. We are now seeking an experienced and dedicated Head of Education to take on the role of line managing SYP’s education services in various locations. Reporting to the CEO and working in cooperation with the education Head of Service Development and with the various local Teachers-In-Charge, the post holder will be responsible for the day to day operation of the teaching services and contract delivery, particularly in the Greater London area.

Candidates should be qualified teachers with demonstrable and recent line management experience. Previous charity or SEN teaching is not required, but well developed management skills, applied with energy and positivity are expected   Base location is in outer London; however, flexible working is encouraged. Travel to and within various locations is essential to the role.
