Last year students from SYP’s Stoke on Trent education service participated in a literary project run by Keele University which gave them to opportunity to write and publish their own book. Named the White Water Writers project young people are given a brief idea for a story which they then develop, draft, proof read and publish after 5 days. The project was a great success and their book The Possessed is available to buy on online.
This week 3 of the students who worked on the book came together with staff from Keele Uni to discuss why they believe the project was successful and how they think it could benefit other young people. Our students engaged fantastically in this feedback process providing Keele with thoughts and ideas that will make sure the project works even better this year with the 6 students identified by Stoke education service to take part this July.
Check back here to find out how it went and what they write about this time!
